CRB Monitor Strengthens Digital Asset Compliance Capabilities with Acquisition of VASPnet
Published on October 13, 2025

CRB Monitor, a leading provider of regulatory compliance intelligence on high-risk and emerging industries, announced today the acquisition of VASPnet Ltd., a Gibraltar-based provider of regulatory data on virtual asset service providers (VASPs).

This strategic acquisition expands CRB Monitor’s surveillance and compliance capabilities across the digital asset sector, complementing its established expertise in monitoring highly regulated industries such as cannabis.

Expanding regulatory coverage in digital assets

VASPnet, formerly part of XReg Group, is recognized for its flagship data products — VASPdata and VASPindex — which aggregate and standardize information from 104 regulators and authorities across 80 countries. As of October 2025, VASPnet has identified more than 59,000 entities, including 36,000 authorized to conduct digital asset activities.

Its data and analytics power compliance and due diligence programs for leading crypto industry participants including Coinbase, Elliptic and CoinDesk.

A unified mission for transparency and risk management

“VASPnet’s subject matter and technical expertise in monitoring VASPs globally will assist CRB Monitor’s expansion into the compliance monitoring of digital asset-related businesses (DARBs),” said Steve Kemmerling, CEO of CRB Monitor.

“By combining VASPnet’s data with CRB Monitor’s global platform, we intend to deliver even greater insight, transparency and assurance to the market,” added Neil Samtani, CEO of VASPnet.

Delivering deeper insight for financial institutions

The acquisition enhances CRB Monitor’s coverage of digital asset-related businesses (DARBs) and digital asset-linked securities — currently tracking more than 1,600 securities from 1,400 issuers traded across 60+ global exchanges.

The integration of VASPnet’s intelligence will enable CRB Monitor clients to better identify, evaluate and manage risks associated with digital asset exposure, strengthening compliance and operational decision-making.
