This two-day in-person event , September 9 - 10, 2021, will gather high-level financial regulators, law enforcement officials and subject-matter experts at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington DC to discuss the most pressing challenges facing the cannabis compliance sector today. Steve Kemmerling, Founder & CEO, CRB Monitor

Since founding CRB Monitor in 2014, Steven Kemmerling has been a thought leader, subject matter expert and data-hound focused on addressing significant challenges around “cannabis and banking.” He created and continues to refine many of the terms, taxonomy and frameworks relied upon by financial institutions and regulators as they seek to understand the cannabis industry and formulate relevant and effective policies, procedures and standards. Prior entrepreneurial experience includes helping to launch and grow a litigation and anti-money laundering consultancy serving large financial institutions. Steve strives to utilize his experience, knowledge, and entrepreneurial insight to develop innovative products and services that provide meaningful solutions to large problems.

Tony Repanich, President & CEO, Shield Compliance

Tony served as a community banker for 25 years and is a former Executive Vice President for Peoples Bank, a $1.5 billion community bank based in Washington State. He was responsible for all aspects of retail banking, mortgage lending, cash management, investment services, and corporate marketing. Under his leadership, the bank grew from less than $200 million in assets to its current size. Prior to joining Shield Compliance, Tony operated a consulting firm focused on cannabis banking and finance, community banking, and financial technology.
 

Brion Nazzaro, President, ACCE

Brion Nazzaro is the President of ACCCE. Brion is a frequent speaker at anti money laundering and financial crime compliance events. Brion has over 20 years of experience in private sector risk management. Previously, Brion was the Managing Director for Copacetic Strategies, providing strategic consulting for commercial cannabis businesses; the Global Compliance Director for WorldRemit, and Chief Compliance Officer for NBH Bank. Brion earned a B.S. in computer science and a MBA from the University of Denver

Jen Yager, Director of Financial Crimes, Valley Bank

Jen Yager is the Director of Financial Crimes Compliance at Valley Bank and has over 15 years of experience in the financial crimes space. In her current role, Jen is responsible for the oversight of the bank’s anti-money laundering and fraud risk management programs. Prior to joining Valley, Jen worked as an Intelligence Research Specialist for a multi-agency federal task force that specialized in money laundering and terrorist financing investigations.
